How to migrate mailboxes from one Office 365 tenant to another

You may have the requirement to move Exchange Online mailboxes from one tenant to another. This could be due to a Merger/Acquisition, Demerger/Divestiture or Spin-Off, or for a tenant-to-tenant migration, which is usually required if the original tenant was created in another region of the world (ie US-based, but the company is in Australia, New Zealand, or South-East Asia).

Use a third-party Migration Tool

This makes it far easier to manage the migration and reduce impacts to your customers, as well as making the overall migration faster. Use Microsoft-provided Tools
